A modern interpretation of Kashmiri Handicrafts
Over centuries Kashmiris developed their handicraft skills to perfection. Since the influence by Persian masters and Mughal emperors, Kashmiri artisans created their very own style. Today everyone can undoubtedly identify this style as originating from the Kashmir valley.
‘Kashida’ is the name of the Kashmiri art of embroidery, which – inspired by nature – creates a small work of art. Individual motifs such as birds, blossoms, lotus and sycamore leaves result in an overall picture of bright colors or tone-in-tone. Large handbags and shoulder bags as well as smaller formats are always absolute eye-catchers and unique.
They are created in small family businesses where the art of Kashida embroidery has been passed down for generations. An absolute rarity in our technological world.
